7th Annual Midwest Fiddle Championship

The contest, presented by the Fiddle Club of the World (Chicago Chapter), is an invitational contest for five or six bands. Each band will be led by one or more fiddlers. Each band must also bring along one or two dancers. The bands will compete for $1,200 in prize money.

This year's contestants are:

The Fiddler and the Hoofer -- Rick Veras with Reggio McLaughlin (swing and tap)
The Hatfield Sisters (Irish)
Los Pichardos (Mexicano - Son Planeco)
Orpheus Hellenic Folklore Ensemble (Greek Islands)
Dr. Hojka's Medicine Show with Rebecca Unger (American old-time and clogging)
