The 10th Annual Chicago Folk & Roots Festival

The Main Stage line-up for the 2007 Festival included headliners The Knitters, the alt-country super group comprised of members from X, the Blasters, and the Red Devils (Saturday), and the hot Latin dance band hybrid of Grupo Fantasma (Sunday), as well as performances by Malian guitar legend Vieux Farka Touré, soul siren Bettye LaVette, and the Brazilian sounds of Forro In The Dark. Additional performances included sets by Dave Specter & The Bluebirds, the Ray Abshire Cajun Band, Sones de México, and Uncle Earl, to name a few.

In addition to the live back-to-back Main Stage performances, visitors shook their hips in the Dance Tent at workshops offering styles from salsa to square dance; sampled popular classes such as Wiggleworms in the the Kids Tent; enjoyed sets by the talented faculty at the Old Town School Staff Stage; and joined in open jams and sing-alongs at the Welles Park Gazebo.s Lincoln Avenue was lined with a diverse sampling of Chicago's finest food vendors offering a vast array of tasty multi-cultural delights.
